Introduction

If you're a Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) employee who has recently been transferred, understanding your Transfer TA (Travelling Allowance) is crucial. This blog post covers everything you need to know  — including eligibility, entitlements, procedures, and more.




Part A: TA on Transfer — What You’re Entitled To

✅ When You Get TA:

If your transfer is made in public interest, you are entitled to:

  • ✈️ Travel cost for self and family

  • 🍽️ Daily Allowance (DA) during travel

  • 🚂 Mileage for the journey

  • 📦 Reimbursement of personal luggage transportation

  • 🏍️ Transport allowance for your car/scooter/bike, if owned



❌ When You Do NOT Get TA:

  • Transfer is at your own request

  • Transfer is part of a disciplinary action

  • If the journey is not actually undertaken



Part B: Entitlements Based on Your Pay Level

1. Mode of Travel Allowed

Note: Where train service is not available, use of bus/taxi is allowed according to entitlement.


 


Part C: Composite Transfer Grant (CTG) & Joining Time

1. CTG – Composite Transfer Grant

  • If you shift your residence, you get 80% of one month's Basic Pay

  • If you don’t shift residence, only 1/3rd of 80% is admissible

Example:
If your basic pay is ₹50,000:

  • With residence shift: ₹40,000 (80%)

  • Without residence shift: ₹13,333




2. Joining Time

  • ⏱️ Up to 5 working days

  • Given if transfer is beyond 20 km

  • Not deducted from your leave account




Part D: Transportation of Personal Effects (Luggage)

2. Reimbursement Conditions

  • ✅ Use registered packers & movers

Part E: Conveyance (Vehicle) Transportation

Part F: Family TA & Daily Allowance

1. Who Counts as 'Family'?

  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Spouse

  • 👶 Legitimate & step-children

  • 👴 Dependent parents

  • 👧 Dependent siblings living with you

Separate claims for family members travelling separately need permission.



 


2. Daily Allowance (DA)

  • Given for each day of travel

  • +1 day extra at the origin and destination

  • Rates vary based on pay level and city category (X, Y, Z)




Part G: Documents Required for TA Claim

To get reimbursed, you must submit:

  1. 📄 Copy of Transfer Order

  2. ✔️ Relieving and Joining Reports

  3. 🎟️ Original Tickets (Train/Bus/Air)

  4. 📦 Luggage Transport Bills

  5. 🏍️ Vehicle Transport Bills

  6. 🧾 Packing/Unpacking Receipts

  7. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Declaration

Submit all documents within 60 days of joining!



 


Part H: Step-by-Step TA Claim Process

  1. ✅ Collect all bills, receipts, and reports

  2. ✍️ Fill the TA Claim Form

  3. 📎 Attach necessary documents

  4. 📤 Submit to your Admin Section/Head of Office
